Spring Beauty Essentials

I absolutely adore this time of year, when winter is finally over and spring is well and truly underway. It’s the perfect time to spring clean your skincare routine and makeup bag, adding a few new items to freshen up your look. Here are a few of my top picks at the moment.

1.Dr Lipp Moisturising Colour Tint, 8ml for £.6.99

This clever little product is a wonder for the lips, with its incredibly moisturising formula injecting much needed hydration instantly. I love the fact its tinted – my favourite shade is Red Radish Pigment which is a lovely deep coral/reddish shade  – making it a product I would use both during the day and also for a dressier night out look. Cleverly, this tint can also be used on the eyelids and cheeks, which makes it a great multi-tasker, ideal for popping in your bag for holidays.

Made from just four ingredients, all 100% natural, this tint comes from the same company which is known for its nipple balms – so that tells you something just how moisturising and caring Dr Lipp products are!

2.    Garnier Eye Sheet Mask Hyaluronic Acid And Coconut Water, £2.99

Eye masks are idea for popping on your peepers when they need a quick boost and refresh, and I like this offering from Garnier, made with coconut water. Stick in the fridge a little while before using the mask, and you’ll get even more benefit from it. Great pre-night out for lifting those tired eyes!

3   Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, £26 for 118ml

This clever product is actually an exfoliator, which slightly blew my mind when I first got my hands on it, as I’m use to using grainy gel-based formulas for this purpose. I struggle with breakouts from time-to-time, so this salicylic acid-based formula is ideal for me, as it helps get rid of dead skin on the surface. It’s also good for reducing blackheads and redness. You use it just like you’d use a toner, applying using a cotton pad, once or twice a day. If you have sensitive skin it might be worth giving this one a miss though, or using less frequently. Also avoid if you are allergic to aspirin. 4.  Garden of Wisdom (GOW) Vitamin C Serum 23% + Ferulic Acid, £10 for 30ml

GOW products have been receiving a lot of attention lately, not least for their impressive formulas which are offered at incredibly reasonable prices.

I’ve been using this vitamin C serum to brighten my skin and even its tone as we enter springtime, and I’m pleased with the results.

The good thing is, unlike some other serums, it’s not greasy at all, and sinks into the skin very quickly, so you can use this during the day or at night – whatever your preference is. If you are using during the day, make sure to add a sunscreen too though.
