When Makeup By Mario launched his first foundation on Boxing Day,
I knew instantly I had to have it!
I’ve been patiently waiting on this particular product from Mario and I know many others have been the very same way
From the name alone of ‘SurrealSkin’ to the foundation being described to reveal skins natural luminosity this was all music to my ears and I had a genuine excitement about it .
How can I choose the best shade of foundation for perfect match …
I saw the swatches on Makeup by Mario’s Instagram page of the 30 shades available and I was easily able just from that to choose my colour, I went for 2N and it’s the perfect match for me, however if you want to get the best possible match for your skin , on the MBM website they offer a free ‘find your shade’ and try it on service , which I think is pretty amazing , as this will allow for the best accuracy possible other then being able to sample and try it on first hand.
Let’s get down to the application of this foundation and a little more about it.
When I first applied the SurrealSkin Foundation onto my skin I was stunned and I don’t use that word lightly here I was genuinely stunned at how this foundation instantly made my skin look, I was left sitting with a huge smile on my face as a makeup artist with a real passion for makeup , and if you’re the same you will know exactly what I’m describing here, a moment of sheer joy and excitement for something completely new to the makeup market.
It gave my skin the ultimate radiant glow and healthiest effect I’ve seen with any foundation yet, I can’t quite put into words just how instantly beautiful this made my skin appear.
Normally for me to achieve my desired glowy skin effect I would mix and layer numerous products , this one foundation for me has it ALL .
The texture is super creamy and a little goes a very long way so will last a long time.
It’s easily buildable and blends effortlessly onto the skin , it comfortably allows you to layer your chosen amount to create your desired effect. It’s long lasting and offers 12 hour hydration for your skin.
It’s simply stunning and I would find it extremely difficult to find any faults with this one as it absolutely ticks all the boxes of what I would be looking for in a foundation.
Where can I buy SurrealSkin foundation….?
Hopefully we will soon be able to purchase this from Sephora in the U.K. to save on the shipping fees, but if you’re like me, I couldn’t wait for it to land here and ordered it from the Makeup by Mario website and I have to say the delivery was pretty speedy.
I placed my order on Boxing Day from the UK and it arrived on the 29th of December!
Price Point …
This foundation retails for £45 so on the higher end of prices for foundation . However I am simply amazed at what Mario has created here, and I feel like this is a product of his many years of experience of trying countless different types of foundations , and he’s put all of that into one bottle for us all to achieve surreal skin.
Overall Thoughts…
I’m absolutely delighted with my purchase and this one was most certainly worth the wait.
What Mario has created here is nothing short of genius in my personal opinion , it’s really surpassed all of the expectations I had.
It was clear to me when we were getting a foundation from Mario it was going to be special and special it truly is .
